A new Erasmus+ project at our school.
Our school has been accepted as the coordinator of the new Erasmus + project under the KA229 Key action entitled "From local to global environmental awareness" (No: 2020-1-PL01-KA229-081789_1)
The idea of the project is to sensitize students to the current ecological problems occurring in the local environment, as well as to make observations that show that the problems observed locally have a huge impact on the world around us as a whole, and on our health and well-being, as well as causing climate change. The partners of this project want to promote sustainable ecological attitudes and economic activities aimed at providing comparable or better living conditions for present and future generations of our society.
The aim of the project is to make it possible to compare environmental problems and solutions applied in its protection in different geographical regions - from places located on the shores of the Mediterranean and Atlantic Seas, on an island, but also from inland towns and villages represented by the project partners.
The project is divided into six stages related to specific environmental problems that are thoroughly analysed during visits to a specific partner:
1. Overexploitation of the environment - Romania
2. Black and green energy. Recycling and plastic packaging - Poland
3. Plastic Pollution (Mediterranean Sea) - Greece
4. Water scarcity and tourist pollution - Spain
5. Green spaces and water pollution (Atlantic Ocean) - Portugal
6. Food production, consumption and waste – Turkey
Project activities will be carried out in English and will include various activities - participation in debates, visits to institutions dealing with environmental problems, observations of changes in nature or actions raising awareness of the importance of these problems. By participating in these events and working on the project, students will develop their skills in technical subjects, including IT, and it will also be an incentive to learn English and other languages.
